THE Offbeat Birdfolk project

Offbeat Birdfolk are the characters that inhabit the same evolving world as Jacqué Price's paintings and narrative work. Strange, curious, and emotionally raw, these figures emerge from the challenge of holding opposites within us, joy and fear, certainty and doubt, awkwardness and acceptance.

A WORLD OF PLAYFUL PARADOX

The Offbeat Birdfolk began as a question—what if our contradictions were not flaws, but necessary rivals?

This question emerged from Jacqué's exploration of emotional duality—the inner tug-of-war between feelings at odds with one another—where truth and identity exist as a living paradox.

What the Birdfolk Stand For:

Self-worth doesn't require self-editing
Lovability is in our contradictions
Resilience isn't born from perfection, but from integration

Why This Work Matters:

This project came to life as a result of Jacqué's experience with anxiety, depression, and a traumatic brain injury. What began as a personal exploration of the complexities of emotional health has evolved into a broader commitment to honoring the full spectrum of her inner life.

The Birdfolk invite us into a world where contradictions are welcomed, strangeness is graceful, and emotional truth is given the space to fully exist.
