THE Offbeat Birdfolk project
Offbeat Birdfolk are the characters that inhabit the same evolving world as Jacqué Price's paintings and narrative work. Strange, curious, and emotionally savvy, these figures emerge from the challenge of holding opposites within us, joy and fear, certainty and doubt, awkwardness and acceptance.

A WORLD OF PLAYFUL PARADOX

The Offbeat Birdfolk began with a question– what if our contradictions were not flaws, but tiny superpowers?

The question came as a result of Jacqué's exploration of emotional duality– the inner tug-of-war between lightness and shadow, certainty and confusion, courage and vulnerability.
Each Birdfolk is a mirror for the parts of us we're still learning how to hold.

What the Birdfolk Remind Us:

Self-worth doesn't require self-editing
Lovability is in our contradictions
Resilience isn't born from perfection, but from integration
Belonging begins by accepting what is

Why This Work Matters:

This project emerged from Jacqué's lived experience with anxiety, depression, and a traumatic brain injury. What began as a personal exploration of the complexities of emotional health has evolved into a broader commitment to honoring the full spectrum of our inner life.
The Birdfolk invite us into a world where contradictions are welcomed, strangeness is graceful, and emotional truth has room to explore new territory.

Stay curious. Stay open. Stay wonderfully human.
