Offbeat Birdfolk
A little world of awkward yet elegant birds is taking shape. After years of my quirky birds stealing all the limelight, these vibrant and expressive oddlings are taking a new form and carving. out their own space to dwell. Their postures began as an exploration of my own internal contradictions– the kind we often hold all at once. Insecure yet invigorated, fearful yet flamboyant, each bird carries these tensions with honesty and charm, revealing the beautifully human way we move through the world: imperfect, colorful, curious and full of life. About the Artist
I'm drawn to the tension between what we show and what we hold inside, to the way wonder, memory, and connection live in the body. Through layered marks and vibrant hues, I attempt to give those inner landscapes a form that is unguarded and intuitive–an invitation to meet ourselves more honestly.
Commission a Painting
Commissions are one of my favorite collaborations. You bring the vision, I bring my visual language, and together we create something meaningful and unique. I accept a limited number of commissions annually so that every painting receives my full attention. Teaching
I offer in-person, online, and recorded classes that are designed to build confidence in color, composition, and creative expression. My main method is to build-up your confidence in the essentials while discovering your own personal style– in a playful, educational, and freeing environment.
