I'M STARTING A BLOG!

Well, writing has been a lifelong passion of mine alongside painting, but one had to take the drivers seat. So it's no wonder I'm feeling the call to blog about the artistic journey, share personal stories, and let you in on my creative process. My hope is to connect, inspire, and educate through sharing my personal experience on and off the canvas.

DISCLAIMER

I want to start this blog by saying, I'm just a girl, albeit 38, and I may not have any of the answers to life's big questions for you, but I won't pretend to either. This blog is meant to document one living work in progress, and if you find it supportive, as I hope you do, please give credit to the energy that animates us both. In other words, my belief is that the wisdom that comes through words, paint, song, dance or any form of self expression is a free agent that none can own and all can access. That said, artists can be the most narcissistic bunch of them all. And while I won't get into it just yet (we just met!), I will say my disclaimer above is just as much a reminder for me as it is for you.

INTRODUCTIONS

Let's get the meet and greet out of the way, shall we? I'm Jacque, and today I'm an Artist, girlfriend, bonus-mom, dog mom, daughter, sister, gallery owner, and women's group leader... But I've been many things. Herbalist, Hypnotherapist, Nutrition Consultant, Juice bar Employee, gypsy living out of a car, know-it-all, brain injury and coma survivor, shy mumbler, 22 year old divorcee, poet, and on and on.

Honestly, I think I'm a ball of energy bound in a body on a quest for truth and transformation. Or maybe just hot air accumulating on a mirror. Who really knows? Life has been a strange and mysterious journey, and each day seems to reveal new challenges and opportunities to find out who I am and what I'm capable of. So my goal is to keep showing up, meeting the day with as much confidence and hope as I can muster.
